Vastervik Bloc is a comprehensive guidebook covering the very best bouldering at Vastervik in southeast Sweden. It has been written by Lorenz Ulmer, the local area expert, who has developed many of the boulder problems. Vastervik is located by the sea with the granite and sandstone boulders scattered in the beautiful woods, and along the peninsulas and coast. The best conditions for bouldering at Vastervik are in the spring and autumn.
The guidebook is split into 4 areas and 24 different crags. At the start of each crag there is a general description of the type of bouldering to be found, location map and access information, plus a table showing the grade spread.
Published in July 2017 this guidebook is in English text throughout. It is packed with practical information about how to get to Vastervik and where to stay, and even where to hire bouldering mats.
