In the general context of the recent expansion of protected natural areas in Spain and Andalusia, it is important to know the role played by the different social groups in the processes of identification, declaration, planning and management of the territory subject to protection. This volume deals with such processes in the area of the Sierras Subbéticas in Cordoba, an outstanding enclave in the Spanish history of protection.
